my place

~a place to sit

hi,
how are you doing?

~things are calming down here a tad, plenty boxes still need to be unpacked-but like my wise, wonderful sister in law told me-"give yourself till December to sort all the stuff out!" I agree.

~my skin is doing better with the help of pharmaceuticals. I'm taking steroids, and if you know anything about me this isn't really ideal-I usually error on the side of less medicine the better (I'm also taking fish oil and evening primrose oil because omega-3's are good for the skin). When the physician assistant saw my rashes (on my hands, arms, legs, face) she knew I needed something-and I will admit I feel better after taking the pills and my skin looks so much better-only because my immune system is being suppressed. I follow up with an internist and dermatologist next week, hopefully that will give me some answers about why my skin is rebelling so.

~my feelings of homesickness are gradually getting better, but are still present. I had a good talk with my sister in law about this-and really she gave me so much insight. Even though we have moved several times before, I think this one came at a time in my life when I was really establishing myself and my interests (after all I find real beauty in routine and sameness). Thus now I have to start over, and truth be told I'm kinda lacking the energy to make connections, to make community again, but it is necessary I know.

~The kids are adapting well and are enjoying school, which in itself a blessing.

~right now I'm crocheting up little dishcloths for our place, some for the bathroom and some for the kitchen.

~I planted a pot of rosemary near the garage today, it's smells very good, really strong.

~I miss Target (the nearest one is about twelve miles away) but I am enjoying the wonderfulness that is Trader Joes (which is about 3 miles away from us :)

Have a good Thursday evening friends.

  2. I'm so glading that you're now making you new place "home". So glad to hear that your skin is getting better. I'm starting to think that my own allergies are being aggravated by my mood. Stress=itching. lol Now that you've shown us this little nook, you know I'm waiting to see your cup of coffee. :-)

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    XOXO

  3. Thanks Tara, glad you are feeling better too.
    Miss you so much!
Thanks Libby! I think you are so right about allergies/symptoms being aggravated by mood/stress. The move was a huge stressor and things have been so busy here and then right before my cycle my skin just got worse-so I know that this is stress related.
    Have a fun weekend friends!
My cup of coffee will come, I've taken a little hiatus from drinking it.
